ALPE distillery was founded in 1948 by Armando Calvetti.
During his University courses in pharmaceutic chemistry, Armando got quite interested to botany and to its applications to the production of liquors. He graduated at the end of world war 2. hile waiting to find a job suitable to his grades, he followed his fondness of botany and started producing herbal liquors in his small basement. At the beginning he was producing only for his friends and acquaintances.
Since his liquors were having success he transformed his passion into business. At present the distillery is run by Fulvio Calvetti, Armando’s son, with the same passion, professionality and competence as his father. While increasing his production Fulvio has kept and respected the typically artisan character of ALPE distillery. A character that requires a constant and strict respect for an environment unique for its beauty but seeking at the same time the best quality.

THE DISTILLERY
ALPE distillery is located at Hone, in the Aosta Valley, the smallest region of Italy, which is at the foot of the Monte Bianco and of the Monte Cervino, two of the highest mountains of the Alps. This wonderful environment offers the primary ingredients of our liquors: uncontaminated water gushing from perpetual glaciers, herbs, flowers and roots with unique taste and scent. The botanic ingredients are picked by experts in an extremely controlled amount. These ingredients are then mixed with alcohol produced exclusively in Italy from first quality wheat
